Snapshots of our life in Alaska:
John, representing the Kotzebue Fire Department, honored me My last picture of Kotzebue as the jet climbs away.
by picking me up in Engine 7 for the ride to the airport.
I have to say that I was excited to leave Kotzebue to be reunited with the wife and kids and to start a new life in Anchorage. However I left with tears in my eyes. Partly it was because of the life we left behind but most of all it was because of the friends we left behind. I cannot say enough about the folks we had come to know and love and it pains me to write about it.
All I can say is it has been an honor and a great pleasure to know, live among, work with, and play beside the fine people of all races in the Northwest Arctic Region. You are special people and you were kind enough to allow us to share our lives with you.
We miss you!
